Presso la libreria Nuova  Europa del centro commerciale dei Granai Jeffery Deaver firma le copie del suo nuovo libro e risponde alle molteplici domande fornendoci tanti spunti di riflessioni e soddisfacendo le tante curiosità sul suo lavoro.

Ci racconta perché dopo oltre quindici anni dall'uscita del 'Collezionista d'ossa' ha deciso di scrivere il seguito. L'idea nasce un giorno mentre, pranzando con il suo assistente, si avvicina una cameriera per prendere le ordinazioni e lui si incanta sul suo tatuaggio che risalta su di una carnagione chiarissima. Decide che sarà proprio questo il tema per proseguire sul filone del 'collezionista'. Cosa si può collezionare se non la pelle su cui porre dei tatuaggi?!


He tells us that after more than fifteen years since the 'Bone Collector' decided to write a sequel. The idea came one day while having lunch with his assistant, a waitress approaches them to take the order and Jeffrey gazes upon her tattoo that stands on a clear skin tone. In that moment he decides that this will be the theme for the sequel of the 'Collector'. What could someone collect if not the skin with a tattoo ?!


Incuriosito il pubblico chiede come è nato il personaggio tetraplegico di Lincoln Rhyme e lui con candore ci dice che non ama l'eroe imbattibile protagonista ad esempio degli innumerevoli film di Bruce Willis, ma è sempre stato affascinato da personaggi che antepongono la forza fisica con quella mentale, come l'amatissimo Sherlock Holmes. Ma anche Sherlock Holmes a volte è un uomo di azione, proprio per questo crea un personaggio agli antipodi che grazie alla sua forza mentale riesce, nonostante le sue condizioni fisiche, a risolvere enigmi non decifrabile alle persone 'comuni'.
Ci racconta anche che ha impiegato circa un anno per stendere questo nuovo thriller, otto mesi per raccogliere tutto il materiale e quattro mesi per scrivere la storia. Un'altra curiosità che l'autore esaudisce è conoscere quale sia per lui il miglior libro che ritiene abbia scritto sul detective Lincoln Rhyme.. E' la Luna Fredda.

The intrigued audience asks how did the quadriplegic character of Lincoln Rhyme and he candidly tells us that he does not like the unbeatable hero protagonist such as the star of many Bruce Willis movies, but he's always been fascinated by people who uses the mental strength rather then physical, as the much-loved Sherlock Holmes. But sometimes even Sherlock Holmes is a man of action, so he wanted to create a new character who, thanks to his mental strength, despite his physical disbility, solves puzzles not so simple for ordinary people.

It also said that he took about a year to roll out this new thriller, eight months to gather all the material and four months to write the story. Another curiosity that the author has revealed to the audience is about the book that is the most beautiful of the Licoln Rhyme series for him and it is.... the 'Cold Moon'.
