Namibia

I do not know whether it is work-related stress in the last few days, rainy days, the physical exhaustion or the immense desire for a vacation that is traveling up my mind in the memory of the last time spent in Namibia.

In the past, sometimes I wondered if there was really the "Africa blues" or was simply a poetic license, I do not know if it is felt by all, but I want to share my feelings and emotions to live in this wonderful land.
First of all, I want to dispel one of the preconceptions of the West people:
"Africa is a continent dangerous because of illness or kidnapping"
I begin by saying that Africa is a huge continent and very different from state to state. In fact, you can't say that you have visited Africa if you have only visited Kenya as you can't say that you had visited Europe just because you stayed in London !!
During the tour in Namibia I was never in danger and I never felt in trouble under any circumstances, indeed .. I have done no vaccine and for the first time back from a trip, instead of losing weight, as usual, I was fatter;-( The food is excellent and high quality !!
After this introduction, I will tell my journey.
The only drawback: the flight was just a little long. Unfortunately, the cost of direct flight is quite high, so we choose a flight with a stopover in Cairo first, then in Johannesburg and finally we arrived in Windhoek (the capital of Namibia).
Who would have thought so?! Immediately I was rewarded after the long journey by an excellent aperitif made from Chardonnay on the top of a skyscraper sipping the first of many beautiful sunsets.

When you hear someone say that the African sunset will remain in your heart because its colors are unique, believe it! I have seen many amazing sunsets in various places but those in Africa are truly 'magical'. The sun is on fire and the sky takes on the intense colors with shades ranging from purple / blue to pink pearly.

I continue my journey to the dreamed red desert. I wanted to visit the red dunes and Deadvlei since childhood, but no picture can make what the eyes have captured !!

We continue to the coast, where, flying with a Cessna, we see sand dunes crashing ocean and lunar horizons that overlook our eyes..

We arrived in the Etosha park where every night you have the white rhinos wish us  'goodnight'  and the next morning we wake up at dawn with a lion's roar.

And what about the meeting with the Himba people and locals. Their looks, the joy in their eyes and the face that lights up just because you offered them a sweet. The gentle curiosity and ingenuity of their actions. It 's something I will never forget and that I miss ...

O i suoi super picnic!!!!

All this has been possible thanks to the wonderful organization of HB Safaris.
I made several trips, but I never found an organization so attentive and caring .. For example, how could we forget the Illy coffee espresso of our friend Emiliano? Or his fantastic picnic !!!!
